Ooey-gooey oaty caramel slabs of deliciousness… You know when Kate Moss said “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”? She had obviously never tried one of these bad boys. I’d take 2 of these over skinny any day of the week, thank you very much Kate!
PREHEAT OVEN 180°C
- 480g plain flour
- 300g light brown sugar
- 170g oats
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 230g butter
- 180g chocolate chips
- 1 can of caramel/ dulce de leche
- Butter a large rectangular dish
- Whisk together the flour, oats, baking powder in a small mixing bowl
- In a separate, larger bowl cream together the butter and sugar
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the large bowl, mixing in between additions
- Transfer half of the dough to the baking tray and spread evenly across the bottom
- Bake for 10 minutes
- Remove from the oven and spread the caramel on top of the baked oats.
- Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture over the top of the caramel
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top of the oat mixture
- Bake for a further 15 minutes
- Remove from the oven, once cooled cut into slices
